Sonnet 740 Matthew 16:15-19 (#6) Bind on Earth – Bound in Heaven
In heaven there are passages we know
That will not lock or yield to any key
Except such key be wielded here below
Upon the force of heavenly decree.
Why can't a child be baptized up above
Or temples be among the mansions there
Why must some things be tied or let go of
Down here before God blesses the affair?
I have to think the answer would be clear
If memories of heaven were not sealed
But since we have no recall of that sphere
We have to go with just what's been revealed.
And that gives so much meaning to life's day
Perhaps that's why He worked it out this way.
