3 Nephi 12:48

3 Nephi 12:48
48 Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect.

Sonnet 727 3 Nephi 12:48A

A perfect baby cannot even walk
Or understand the consequence of sin
And needs some time to learn to even talk
Before much education can begin.

A perfect child is still in need of aid
Will say and do the very darndest things
His state of immaturity displayed
In what most every daily challenge brings.

A perfect adult now begins to learn
The ways of virtue, patience and of love
To pray and bridle passions and to turn
For comfort and for guidance from above.

While perfect gods are free from all mistakes
The perfect man repents from those he makes.
