Matthew 16:15-19 (#3)

Sonnet 737  Matthew 16:15-19 (#3) Flesh and Blood Hath Not Revealed It

The air is full of messages of hope
Of testimony singing in the wind
Beyond all flesh and blood in power and scope
A balm, a joy, a rescue for the sinned.

The witness is a universal thing
The signal ever strong and sharp and true
A light, a burning feeling and a sting
A dream, a gift, delightful as the dew.

But flesh and blood can easily resist
Distract, forget, deny and even lie
It's sinful pleasures cannot coexist
With revelation beyond earth and sky.

So be believing and enjoy the rain
Of wisdom flesh and blood cannot obtain.
