Thy word is
a
lamp unto
my feet, and a light unto
my path.
We know from writ* that God is Word and Light
The light and life of every man from birth
That darkness comprehended not the sight
Of light that shineth over all the earth.
And this is light and knowledge so profound
That metaphor explodes into the real
All meaning and direction can be found
Because of what the word and light reveal.
So move your feet and scurry on your way
Employing as you go in faith the lamp
That shows the only path in night or day
Upon which faithful saints should want to tramp.
He is the Way, the Word, the Light, the Lamb
The Truth, the Rock, the Bread, the Life, the Lamp.
