Before the Ten Commandments were in stone
Well, just as soon and Eve and Adam were
They were enjoined to go through life alone
Thus marriage is the life we should prefer.
And we can tinker with this if we will
And choose perhaps to never even leave
But if we do we'll never quite fulfill
The blessings of obedience to cleave.
And something that I'll teach you from my heart
There's nothing in this life as good as this
Not money, fame or power as a start
Compares in any way to wedded bliss.
And add to this a child or two or more
And life has given all you could ask for.
