Sonnet
694 Exodus 20:3-17 (#6) Honour thy father and thy mother
Our
parents come in every shape and size
Invisible,
invasive or inane
Inadequate,
inactive or unwise
And
humble, true, indifferent and vain.
And
some are rich, solicitous and kind
And
others greedy, poor and hard to please
And
many best described as unrefined
While
others climb the social scale with ease.
And
yet no matter where your parents fit
In
goodness or in evil or in place
You
honour them by living bit by bit
Above
the fortunes of your family base.
Until
if everyone would turn this key
The
world would be a better place to be.
