Hebrews 12:9

Hebrews 12:9
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

Sonnet 770 Hebrews 12:9

If reverence is hard for you to take
And being subject makes you ill at ease
Or if correction of a clear mistake
Is worse to you than any dread disease.

If you're with those who say they'd rather die
Than be subjected to parental will
Well that's a rule to which you will comply
As such a death-wish does the law fulfill.

Obedience means life or death to man
You choose to live when choosing to obey
And sadly in the vast eternal plan
The disobedient don't go that way.

It's up to you, but this advice I give
Be subject to the Father's will... and live.
