Ephesians 4:11-14

Ephesians 4:11-14
 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Sonnet 757 Ephesians 4:11-14

The officers are there to steer you right
To brace you from those winds that push and pull
They keep you from the cunning and the sleight
Protecting you from wolves in clothes of wool.

Your bishop and your president of stake
The prophet and the other brethren there
Will mark the safest path without mistake
Give them your faith and confidence and prayer.

The member who will love his leaders well
Is grateful for the the things that they advise
And will not criticize God's personnel
Is safest from deceit and crafty lies.

Perfecting of the saints is the design
And that can't happen when they're out of line.
