D&C 131:1-4 #2

Sonnet 827 D&C 131:1-4 #2

And here again the irony is strong
Rewarding up in heaven by this plan
To do the thing that best makes life a song
And come together as a wife and man.

You might expect some test that's arduous
To earn you “top of class” in heaven's place
But no, the thing that works is marvellous
A marriage made in covenants of grace.

And is it not this way with all commands?
We're told to do just what we should desire
The wise man learns and fully understands
That righteousness will always lift us higher.

Amazing that we prove ourselves in this
By taking on the joys of wedded bliss.
