D&C 18: 15-16 #3

Sonnet 792 D&C 18: 15-16 #3

And some may labour all their days, I fear
And never see, in life, the joyfulness
Of bringing even one soul to or near
The Holy One who wants to own and bless.

Some even serve a mission for two years
And knock on doors and cry repentance loud
And overcome temptation and their fears
And yet can't pick a convert from the crowd.

And seeing others easily succeed
Can't help but be discouraging to such
Who, giving all they can, still humbly plead
For someone, somewhere, sometime they can touch.

That saint, in joy, will have a great reward
For having brought his own soul to the Lord.
